Clayton, North Carolina
Assemblies of God churches in Clayton are part of a Pentecostal fellowship organized in April 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and of its North Carolina District, which was formed in nearby Dunn in 1944. Expect contemporary worship, an expectation that the Holy Spirit is active in the service, and in at least one Clayton congregation, worship in Spanish.

Every one shows its source and the date it was last checked, and anything unconfirmed says so.

Services are often longer and more participatory than in Baptist or Methodist churches, with extended singing, prayer at the front for anyone who wants it, and room for speaking in tongues, which the Assemblies of God teaches as the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Nobody expects a visitor to take part in any of it. Sitting and watching is completely normal.
