How they differ from Southern Baptist churches

Worship on a Sunday morning will look much the same: hymns, a sermon, baptism by immersion. The differences are mostly in church life. Cooperative Baptist churches affirm women as pastors and deacons, which the Southern Baptist statement of faith does not for pastors, and they tend to give individual members and congregations more latitude on questions the Southern Baptist Convention settles by confession.
